Program

Summit Agenda

8:00am - 6:00 pm

8:00 am – 8:50 am

Registration and Breakfast

Networking begins. Download the Finance Events Mobile App to setup meetings in the Networking Hall throughout the day. Numbers in the app correspond with numbers on the tables.

9:00 am – 9:30 am Main Stage

Canada’s Next Decade of Investing

Wealth

Rewiring Canadian Finance: Canada’s investing landscape is being reshaped by higher-for-longer rates, new product wrappers, and AI-driven personalization. In this fireside, Som Seif will share what innovations actually matter (vs. hype), how Canadian portfolios evolve over the next decade, and the tradeoffs between broader access, transparency, and risk.

9:30 am – 10:00 am Main Stage

Going Beyond the Score

Lending

Rewriting the Rules of Credit: The traditional bureau score was built for a thinner-data economy. Today’s lenders deploy cash-flow analytics, alternative data, AI-assisted underwriting, and consortium intelligence. Speed has increased. So have losses in unexpected tiers. This panel examines how to expand access without underwriting illusion and how collections and recoveries are evolving in parallel.

9:30 am – 10:00 am Second Stage

The Rise of Agentic Fraud Ops

Fraud

Fighting Fraud at Machine Speed: Attackers can now probe systems and adapt in real time, while most defenses still move on human timelines. This session explores “agentic fraud ops”— using AI agents to investigate alerts, connect signals, surface emerging patterns, and help teams update defenses faster—with practical examples and a framework for where agents fit in modern fraud operations.

10:00 am – 10:30 am Second Stage

Trust, Verified

Compliance

The Infrastructure of Prevention: Fraud is shifting from brute force to persuasion—social engineering, account takeovers, and synthetic IDs across banking, lending, and wealth. This session explores the modern prevention stack—ID verification, device and behavioural signals, and KYC/AML—designed to stop bad actors without adding friction that breaks approvals or the customer experience.

10:30 am – 11:00 am Main Stage

Deal Makers

Capital

The M&A Ecosystem in Canadian Finance: This panel explores the comprehensive financing environment in Canada from sponsors’ and acquirers’ perspectives. Discussion topics include public markets, strategies for raising capital, and closing transactions, offering insights into the entire deal process.

10:30 am – 11:00 am Second Stage

The Battle of the Rails

Payments

Stablecoins vs Real-Time Payments: Will Canada’s Real-Time Rail define the 24-hour economy, or will tokenised money become the preferred settlement layer? This debate focuses on liquidity economics, compliance programmability, cross-border efficiency, and finality.

11:00 am – 11:30 am Main Stage

Partnership Behind the Product

Banking

How Fintech Programs Get Off the Ground: Behind every successful card, lending, deposit or payments program is a complex partnership between fintechs, banks and infrastructure providers. This session explores how products actually get launched and scaled, from sponsorship and compliance to operations, economics and long-term program management.

11:00 am – 11:30 am Second Stage

Banking, Disguised

Banking

Embedded Finance and the Fight for Distribution: Financial services increasingly appear inside platforms that are not banks. Embedded lending, cards, and payments promise scale, but margins compress and ownership blurs. Who owns the customer? Who carries the risk? And does embedded finance create distribution leverage or channel conflict?

11:30 am – 12:00 pm Main Stage

Preparing for the Downturn

Lending

When the Consumer Starts to Crack: Delinquencies are rising across credit cards and consumer loan portfolios, and lenders are shifting from growth mode to defence. This panel examines what’s driving the uptick, which segments are flashing first, and how leading teams are adjusting underwriting, limits, and pricing—plus what “modern” collections and loss-mitigation looks like before the cycle turns.

11:30 am – 12:00 pm Second Stage

The Automated Bank

AI

Scaling Customer Experience with AI and Workflow Automation: Banks are using AI to deliver faster, more personalized service at scale—while keeping cost-to-serve under control. This panel looks at what’s working in production across onboarding, servicing, proactive financial health, and segment-specific journeys, and how teams measure impact (NPS, containment, conversion, churn) without compromising trust or compliance.

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Network Lunch

1:00 pm – 1:30 pm Main Stage

Next-Gen Digital Banking

Banking

Fireside Chat: In this fireside chat, Tangerine’s CEO will share her perspective on the future of banking a year into her tenure as CEO of the bank. The conversation will cover changing customer expectations, where innovation is reshaping the industry, and how banks can balance speed, simplicity, and trust in the years ahead.

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm Main Stage

From Data to Action

Banking

Closing the Execution Gap: Financial institutions have invested heavily in data, analytics, and AI—but turning insight into timely customer action is still hard. This panel looks at what’s blocking real-world execution (tech, compliance, operating models) and what’s working across personalization, acquisition, cross-sell, and engagement.

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm Second Stage

Why AI Hasn’t Managed Your Money Yet

Wealth

AI is everywhere… except in retail wealth: Consumers trust AI for search, writing, and service, but most still rely on familiar models for investing and advice. This panel explores what’s really slowing adoption – accountability, regulation, data and integration, and the bar for proving better outcomes – and what “responsible” AI in portfolio management could look like next.

2:00 pm – 2:30 pm Main Stage

Credit Union at Scale

Banking

How Servus is Modernizing Member Banking: Servus Credit Union operates at major-institution scale, but with a cooperative, member-first mandate. In this interview, we’ll dig into how a leading Canadian credit union is approaching digital transformation, core technology decisions, fintech partnerships, lending and deposit strategy in a higher-rate world, and what “competing with banks” looks like while staying true to the credit union model

2:30 pm – 3:00 pm

EQ Finance Awards

The CLA is proud to present the 2026 EQ Bank Finance Awards: Executives and thought leaders who think outside the box to develop and foster innovative concepts and strategies that help advance lending and finance in Canada. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Event Experience & Logistics

Yes, our venue is wheelchair accessible.

Can I get a list of registered attendees before the event?

We don’t provide a list of registered attendees ahead of the event. If you’re looking to connect with other attendees, the Finance Events Mobile App (where available) lets you browse the full list of registered attendees and message other delegates once you’re both registered and checked in.

Can I pay in CAD or USD?
Payments & Pricing

Tickets can be purchased in either CAD or USD – you can pick whichever currency you’d like to shop in while reviewing the event details, before you check out. Our payment partner processes payments in multiple currencies, so you can still pay from any country supported by Stripe, regardless of which currency you choose for your ticket.

Can I transfer my ticket to a colleague?
Registration & Tickets

Yes. Only the person who purchased the ticket can edit attendee details, and this can be done directly from My Orders — just log in, find the order, and swap in your colleague’s name and contact details. Attendee edits close 48 hours before the event, so make any changes before then.

Can my company pay by invoice/PO instead of credit card?
Payments & Pricing

We don’t currently accept payment by invoice or purchase order. If credit card isn’t an option for your company, please reach out to our team via the Contact page to discuss other possible payment arrangements.

Do you have a networking app?
Event Experience & Logistics

The Finance Events Mobile App lets you build your schedule, view the agenda, and connect with other attendees — but it’s not set up for every summit. Where it’s available, you’ll find the download link and setup instructions sent via email to the attendee or specified in another question. If you don’t see it mentioned for your event, that summit isn’t using the app.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes, Canadian Lenders Association (CLA) members receive a discounted rate. If your company is a CLA member check with your organization’s primary contact for the details or reach out to the CLA directly.

Do you offer invoices or receipts for expense reporting?
Payments & Pricing

Yes — an invoice is sent to the purchaser as a PDF along with your order confirmation email. If you need another copy, it’s also available from My Orders

Do you provide visa invitation letters for international attendees?

Invitation letters are handled on a case-by-case basis and can’t be guaranteed. A confirmed ticket purchase is generally the first step before we’re able to consider a request, so once you’ve registered, please reach out via the Contact page with your details and we’ll see what we can do.

How do I become a sponsor?
Sponsorship & Exhibiting

We’d love to have you involved. Sponsorship and exhibitor packages for each of our summits — including pricing, benefits, and available tiers — are hosted on the Canadian Lenders Association website at canadianlenders.org/sponsorship. There you can browse packages specific to the event you’re interested in and see what’s still available. If you have a question that isn’t answered there, or you’d like to talk through the best fit for your company, just reach out through our Contact page and a member of our team will get back to you.

How do I update my registration info after I’ve registered?
Registration & Tickets

Only the ticket purchaser can update attendee details. If you bought the ticket, log into My Orders to edit the registration — job title, company, or contact information. If someone else purchased your ticket on your behalf (e.g. your company registered you), you’ll need to ask them to make the update, or have them reach out to us directly.

What is the refund, cancellation, or ticket transfer policy?
Registration & Tickets

Unless otherwise noted on a specific event page, tickets are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, the ticket purchaser can transfer it to a colleague directly from My Orders — attendee edits close 48 hours before the event, so make the change before then. If Finance Events ever needs to cancel or reschedule an event, you’ll be offered a credit or refund.

When will I receive a confirmation email with my registration details?

You’ll receive a confirmation email immediately after registering with your order details and invoice. If you purchase multiple tickets, the purchaser receives the order confirmation email with the full purchase details, and each individual attendee will also receive their own separate email confirming their registration

Where can I find session transcripts & recordings?
Content & Resources

Selected session recordings, transcripts, and highlights are shared after each summit. You can browse past sessions on our Featured Panels page, and full transcripts are published via the Canadian Lenders Association here. Not every session is recorded or transcribed, so availability can vary by event

Where can I manage my existing orders?
Registration & Tickets

You can view and manage your orders anytime from My Orders.

Will I be photographed or recorded at the event?
Privacy & Policies

By registering you consent to being photographed and recorded (audio and video) by Finance Events and its partners. We may use, exhibit, post, display, broadcast, or distribute these photos and recordings in our external communications and on social media. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.

Will my name, company, and title be shared with other attendees?
Privacy & Policies

Yes – by registering, your name, company, and contact details may be included in our networking app to enable attendee-to-attendee connections, unless you opt out. If you’d prefer not to be included, contact us and we’ll remove you from the networking list. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
